Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

To solve the equation by factorization,

x² - ( √2 + 1 ) x + √2 = 0

Solution :

⇒ x² - (√2 + 1)x + √2 = 0

⇒ x² - x√2 - x + √2 = 0

⇒ x( x - √2 ) - 1 (x - √2) = 0

⇒ (x - 1)(x - √2) = 0

For product of two numbers is 0,

Then, atleast one of them must be 0,.

⇒ (x - 1) = 0 (or) (x - √2) = 0

⇒ x = 1 (or) x = √2

∴ Solution of the equation x² - ( √2 + 1 ) x + √2 = 0 are 1 & √2
