 {a}^{2}  + 2a - 3 = 0 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  3 = 3  \times 1 \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   2 = 3 - 1 \\  {a}^{2}  + 3a - a - 3 \\ a(a + 3) - 1(a + 3) \\ (a - 1)(a + 3) = 0 \\ therefore \:  \:  \:  \\ a - 1 = 0 \: or \: a + 3 = 0 \\ a = 1 \: or \: a =  - 3 \: are \: the \: roots

1a²+2a−3=0

3=3×1

2=3−1

a

2

+3a−a−3

a(a+3)−1(a+3)

(a−1)(a+3)=0

therefore

a−1=+3=0

a=1ora=−3
