3x/4 + 3 = 18
take L.C.M.
So, (3x + 12)/4 = 18
take 4 on R.H.S.
3x + 12 = 18*4
3x + 12 = 72
Now bring 12 on R.H.S.
So, 3x = 72 - 12
i.e, 3x = 60
So, x = 60/3
therefore, x = 20
