2 + 4(x - 5) = 9x + 13 \\ 2 + 4x - 20 = 9x + 13 \\ 4x - 18 = 9x + 13 \\ 4x - 9x = 13 + 18 \\ -5x = 31 \\ x = -\frac{31}{5}

  • 2 + 4(x-5) = 9 x + 13

      ⇒ 2 + 4 x - 20 = 9 x + 13

      ⇒   4  x - 9 x = 13 + 20 - 2

    ⇒  - 5 x = 31

   ∴ x =  -31/5
