8(x + 3) =  \frac{12}{7(x - 5)}  \\ 8x + 24 =  \frac{12}{7x - 5} \\ (8x + 24)(7x - 5) = 12 \\ 56 {x}^{2}  + 128x - 120 = 0 \\ 7 {x}^{2}  + 16 - 15 = 0 \\ (7x - 5)(x + 3) = 0

Therefore,

x =  \frac{5}{7} or - 3
