Put p = 3,

Thus the solution is p = 3.

 

(ii) Put m = 4,

we have :    3(4) - 14 = -2 not equal to 4

Put m = 5,

we have :    3(5) - 14 = 1 not equal to 4

Now, put m = 6,

we have :    3(6) - 14 = 4 is equal to 4

Thus m = 6 is the solution.
