Answer:

(i) 23/12

(ii) 20/3

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) 3x-1/4 = 2x+5/3

Transposing -1/4 to R.H.S and 2x to L.H.S

=> 3x-2x = 5/3+1/4

=> x = 23/12

(ii)3y+2/2y+4 = 7/6

By using cross-multiplication

=> 6(3y-2) = 7(2y+4)

=> 18y-12 = 14y+28

Transposing 14y to L.H.S and -2 to R.H.S

=> 18y-14y = 28+12

=> 4y = 40

=> y = 40/4

=> y = 10
