2x^2 -5+7 =0

=> 2x^2 +2 =0

=> 2( x^2 +1) = 0

=> x^2 +1 = 0

=> x^2 = -1

so the square of any number cannot be negative except if taking iota is allowed.

But I don't think that's the case here.
