Solve the following linear equations x/10+y/5+1=15 and X/8+y/6=15

Answer:

x/10+y/5+1=15

or, x/10+y/5=15-1

or, (x+2y)/10=14

or, x+2y=140 ---------------------------(1)

x/8+y/6=15

or, (3x+4y)/24=15

or, 3x+4y=360 -------------------------(2)

Multiplying (1) with 3 and (2) with 1 we get,

3x+6y=420 -----------------------------(3)

3x+4y=360 -----------------------------(4)

Subtracting (4) from (3),

2y=60

or, y=30

Putting in (1),

x+2×30=140

or, x=140-60

or, x=80

∴, The required solution is : x=80, y=30
