Solve the following pair of equations by using the elimination method . (1) x-2y=3 , 3x-3y=5.​

Answer:

x-2y=3---eqn(1)

3x-3y=5----eqn(2)

eqn(1)×3; 3x-6y=9 (3)

3x-3y=5

subtract eqn (3)and (2)

therefore we will be left with

-3y=4 ;;so y=-4÷3

Now;

x-2y=3

x-2(-4÷3)=3

x+8÷3=3

x=3-8÷3

x=1÷3

x=-4\3; y=1/3
