Answer:

let, 2x + 3y -8 = 0 -------- (1)

and 3x-y -1 = 0 ---------- (2)

from eq.(2) we get,

y = 3x -1 -------- (3)

on putiing y= 3x-1 in eq. (1) we get,

2x + 3(3x-1) -8 =0

2x + 9x - 3 -8 =0 ----- 11x - 11 =0

11x =11 ----- x= 1

on putting x = 1 in eq.(3) we get,

y= 3(1) -1 ------ y = 3-1 ----- y =4

Hence , x=1 and y=4
