ax + by = a² - b ²  

from first equation y= x-a-b;

on substituting y = x - a - b in second equation , we get ;

ax + b( x - a - b) =  a² - b ²  

ax + bx - ab  - b ² =  a² - b ²  

(a + b) x = bx

b = a + b

a =0;

so from  y = x - a - b ; x - y = b ; also by = - b ²  

y = -b;

from x - y = a + b; x - y = a - y;

x = a;
