2x+3y=11...........(1)

2x-4y=-24..........(2)

by elimination method (1) from(2)

2x-4y = -24
2x+3y = 11
(-) (-) (-)
-----------------
-7y = -35( '-' cancel )

=7y = 35

= y = 35/7=5

y = 5.........(3)

put 3 in 1

= 2x + 3(5) = 11

= 2x + 15 =11

= 2x = 11 - 15

= 2x = -4

= x = -4/2= -2

= y = 5 ; x = -2
