Solve the following pairs of linear equations by substitution method.

19. 2x - y = 6: -4x + 2y =3​

-4x + 2y = 3 and 2x - y = 6 .......1

2y = 3 - 4x

y = 3-4x÷2

2x - (3-4x÷2) = 6

2x - 3 + 4x ÷ 2 = 6

(4x - 3 + 4x)÷ 2 = 6

8x - 3 = 12

8x =9

x =9÷8 .....2

now substitute. .......2 in eq .......1

2 × 9÷8 - y = 6

-y = 6 -9÷4

-y = (24-9)÷4

y = -15÷4
