Answer:

9y² - 12y + 2 = 0

(3y)² - 2(3y)(2) + 2² - 2² + 2 = 0

(3y - 2)² - 4 + 2 = 0

(3y - 2)² = 2

(3y - 2) = √2

taking (+ve)

3y = √2 + 2

y = (√2 + 2)/3

taking (-ve)

3y = -√2 + 2

y = (2 - √2)/2

9y^{2}  - 12y + 2 = 0\\(3y)^{2}  - 2(3y)(2) + 2^{2}  - 2^{2} + 2 = 0\\(3y - 2)^{2}  - 4 + 2 = 0\\(3y - 2)^{2}  = 2\\(3y - 2) = \sqrt{2} \\taking \:(+ve)\\3y = \sqrt{2}  + 2\\y = \frac{(\sqrt{2}  + 2)}{3}\\taking\: (-ve)\\3y = -\sqrt{2}  + 2\\y = \frac{(2 - \sqrt{2} )}{3}
