Given :-

\sf \bullet \;\; 6y^{2} + 7y -10

Solution :-

\sf : \; \implies 6y^{2} + 7y -10  = 0

\sf : \; \implies 6y^{2} -5y + 12y-10  = 0

\sf : \; \implies y( 6y-5) + 2( 6y-5 ) = 0

~Factor out common term 6y − 5 by using distributive property.

\sf : \; \implies ( 6y-5)( y + 2) = 0

\sf : \; \implies 6y -5 = 0

\sf : \; \implies 6y = 0 + 5

\sf: \; \implies 6y = 5

\bf : \star \; \;  y = \dfrac{5}{6}

\sf :  \; \implies y + 2 = 0

\sf : \; \implies y = 0 -2

\bf : \star \; \;  y = -2

Henceforth, the value of y can be 5/6 or -2
