x² - 4ax - b² + 4a² = 0

x² - 4ax + 4a² - b²

a = 1, b = -4a, c = 4a² - b²

D=b²-4ac

=16a² - ( 4 × 1 × 4a² - b²)

=16a² - 16a² + 4b²

= 4b²

x= - b + √D , x = - b - √D

2a 2a

x = , x = 4a + √4b² 4a - √4b²

x = 4a + 2b , x = 4a - 2b

2 2

x = 2a + b , x = 2a - b.

x²-4ax-b²+4a²=0

Assuming x is to be solved in terms of a and b,

x^2 - 4ax + 4a^2 + 4b^2 = 0

a = 1, b = -4a, c = 4a^2 - b^2

-(-4a) ± sqrt((-4a)^2 - 4(4a^2 - b^2))

x = ---------------------------------------

2

4a ± sqrt(16a^2 - 16a^2 + 4b^2))

x = ---------------------------------

2

4a ± 2b

x = -------

2

x = 2a ± b
