solve the following quadratic equations by completing the square method m 2 -5m = -3

Hi ,

m² - 5m = -3

=> m² - 2 × m × ( 5/2 ) = -3

=> m²-2×m× (5/2)+(5/2)² = -3+(5/2)²

=> ( m - 5/2 )² = -3 + 25/4

=> ( m - 5/2 )² = ( -12 + 25 )/4

=> ( m - 5/2 )² = 13/4

=> m - 5/2 = ± √13/2

=> m = 5/2 ± √13/2

=> m = ( 5 ± √13 )/2

Therefore ,

m = ( 5 + √13 )/2 or m = ( 5 - √13 )/2
