2. Find four consecutive terms in an A.P whose sum is 12 and sum

of 3rd and 4th term is 14

3. Prove that if a line parallel to a side of a triangle intersects the

Answer:

7x+3y=15•••••(I)

5x-12y= -39••••••(II)

  • we can do (I)×4 and (II)×1

so that,

28x+12y=60

5x-12y= -39

• after equation.

23x=21

or, x=23/21

and the value of y find from (I) by put the value of x,

7×23/21+3y=15

or, 7.6+3y=15

or, 3y= 15-7.6

or, 3y=7.4

or, y= 7.4/3

or y= 2.46

your answer , x= 23/21 and y= 2.46..
