⇒ 3( 22 - 5b ) + 5b = 26

⇒ 66 - 15b + 5b = 26

⇒ 66 - 10b = 26

⇒ 66 - 26 = 10b

⇒ 40 = 10b

⇒ 4 = b

     Therefore,

⇒ a = 22 - 5b

      = 22 - 5( 4 )

      = 22 - 20

      = 2

Hence, a = 2 and b = 4
