Solve the following simultaneous linear equations using substitution method:

5m = 7n + 5, m = 2n – 2

Answer:

5m=7n+5

m=2n-2

using equation 2

putting value of m in equation 1

5(2n-2)=7n+5

10n-10=7n+5

3n=15

n=5

putting value of n in equation 2

m=2×5-2

m=10-2

m=8
