Step-by-step explanation:

let equation 1= 2x+y=5 and equation two =2x+3y=3

subtract equation one and two,we get

2x+y=5

2x+3y=3

- -. -

-2y=2

y =-2

put value of y in equation 1

2x-2=5

2x=5+2

2x=7

X=7/2

Firstly, We have two simultaneously Equations that are 2x + y = 5 and 2x + 3y = 3.

→ 2x + y = 5

→ y = (5 – 2x) [1]

Now, Putting [1] Equation in second Equation as well.

→ 2x + 3y = 3

→ 2x + 3(5 – 2x) = 3

→ 2x + 15 - 6x = 3

→ 15 - 4x = 3

→ 15 – 3 = 4x

→ 12 = 4x

→ 12/4 = x

→ x = 3

Finally, we have to find the value of other variable by putting value of one Variable in any of the Equation.

→ 2x + y = 5

→ 2 × 3 + y = 5

→ 6 + y = 5

→ y = 5 – 6

→ y = -1

Hence,

The value of x and y are 3 and –1 Respectively.
