x^2 -x -(a+1)(a+2)=0

x^2 -(a+2)x+(a+1)x-(a+1)(a+2)=0
x(x-a-2) +(a+1)(x-a-2)
(x+a+1)(x-a-2)

x=-(a+1)

x=a+2

Anonymous: how did this x^2 -(a+2)x+(a+1)x-(a+1)(a+2)=0 come

2x-x-(a+1)(a+2)=0
x-(a^2+2a+a+2)=0
x-(a^2+3a+2)=0
x=a^2+3a+2
=a^2+2a+1a+2
a(a+1)(a+2)
a=-1or-2
there for x=-1or -2
