Total number of apples are = 15 dozen If 1 dozen has 12 apples then 15 dozen have= 15 × 12 =180 apples

If one apple were rotten then total number of apples are = 179 apples And also sold 5 apples then total number of apples are = 174 apples So the ans is = 174 apples

Answer:

number of apples left in crate = 132

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data:

Total number apples in crate = 15 dozen

we know that 1 dozen = 12 ⇒ 15 dozen  = (15 × 12) = 180 apples

number of apples rotten and thrown = 1/15

number of apples sold = 1/5

here we need to find remaining apples in crate

from give data rotten and thrown apples = 1/15 of number of apples

                 =  \frac{1}{15} (180)  =  12

number of apples sold = \frac{1}{5} (180)  = 36

the number of apples left in crate

= 180 - (number of rotten apples+ number of sold apples)

  = 180 - (12+36)

  = 180 - 48  = 132
