This can be solved by splitting the equation into two parts:

  • 13x - 5 < 15x + 4
  • 15x + 4 > 7x + 12

Solving eqn 1:-

13x - 5 < 15x + 4

=> -9 < 2x

=> x > -9/2

Solving eqn 2:-

15x + 4 > 7x + 12

=> 8x < 8

=> x < 1

Thus, x € (-9/2,1)
