Solve the linear equation x+y=5, 2x-3y=4 by elimination method?

x+y=5------------(1)
2x-3y=4---------(2)
Multiplying (1) with 3 and adding with (2), we get
3x+3y=15
2x-3y=4
⇒5x=19
⇒x=19/5
then, y=5-x
or, y=5-19/5
or, y=(25-19)/5
or, y=6/5
∴, x=19/5, y=6/5
