Solve the linear equations by elimination method 3x+2y=1 and 2x-4y=2

3x + 2y = 1....1 \\ 2x - 4y = 2....2
multiply 1 with 2 we get
  6x  + 4y =  2....3
adding 2 and 3 we get
8x = 4 \\ x =  \frac{4}{8}  \\ x =  \frac{1}{2}
substitute x= 1/2 in 1
3 \times  \frac{1}{2}  + 2y = 1 \\  \frac{3}{2}  + 2y = 1 \\ 3 + 4y = 2 \\ 4y = 2 - 3 \\ y =  -  \frac{1}{4}
