Solve the pair of linear equation 2x+y=17 and 17x-11y=8
by substitution method

hey....MATE , here's ur solution
given,
linear equation is 2x + y = 17
17x- 11y=8
by using substitution method,

( use Attachment )

hence value of ( x,y ) is (5, 7)

2x + y= 17.

y = 17 - 2x

Now, We have value of " y "

17x - 11y = 8 .

17x -11(17-2x)=8

17x - 187 + 22x = 8

39 -187 = 8

39x = 8 + 187

39x = 195

x = 195/39 = 5

Now, Substitute x value in equation of y

y = 17 - 2 ( 5)

y = 17 -10

y = 7 .

Value of x = 5

Value of y = 7 .
