-4x + y = 1 .....(i) x 5

6x - 5y = 9......(ii) x 1

-20x + 5y = 5 (Adding)

6x - 5y = 9

___________

-14x = 14

___________

x= -1

Putting value of x in (i)

-4 x -1 +y = 1

=) 4 +y = 1

=) y= 1-4

=) y= -3

x= -1

y= -3 (Answer)
