Using elimination method !!

x + 2 y = 2

x + 3 y = 7

Subtracting both !!

we get :-

- y = - 5

y = 5

Put value of y in 1st equation !

x + 2 ( 5 ) = 2

x + 10 = 2

x = 2 - 10

x = - 8
