x-y =2...(1) and x+y=4...(2) Add the equations (1)and(2) ,we get 2x=6=>x=3 . Substitute x=3 in equation(1), 3-y=2=> y=3-2=1 . So solution of these two equations is x=3 andy=1 . Hope it helps you...
