The two equations are

x + y = 2
x - y = 2

Adding the two equations, we get 2x = 4 or x = 2.

Then, 2 + y = 2 or y = 0

So, if x = 2, then, substituting this in p = 2x + 3, we get

p = 2*2+3 = 4+3 = 7.
