According to the question, the Perimeter of the square = Perimeter of rectangle.

Let us find the Perimeter of the square first.

Area of square = 256cm²

we know that,

Area = side × side = (side)²

Side = 256 = 16cm

Perimeter = 4 × 16

= 64cm

Rectangle :

Let the length be x cm

Breadth =

 \frac{x}{3}

As we know the perimeter,

64 = 2(x +  \frac{x}{3} )

 \frac{64}{2}  = x +  \frac{x}{3}

32 =  \frac{3x + x}{3}

32 =  \frac{4x}{3}

32 \times 3 = 4x

 \frac{32 \times 3}{4}  = x

24cm = x

Therefore,

breadth =

 \frac{24}{3}  = 8cm

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Area = 24 × 8

Area = 192cm²

Hope it helps

Have a great day
