solution

by using ax²+bx+c=0

⇒ a=2, b=a ,c=-a²

⇒x=-a²+or-√a²-4(2)(-a²)/2(2)

x=(-a²+or-√a²+8a²)/4

x=(-a²+or-√9a²)/4

x=(-a²+or-3a)/4

⇒x=(-a²+3a)/4 or x=(-a²-3a)/4
