8x^2-2x-1=0

8x^2-4x+2x-1=0

4x(2x-1)+1(2x-1)=0

(4x+1)(2x-1)=0

4X=-1 or 2x=1

X=-1/4 X=1/2

The solution of equation is x=\frac{-1+2\sqrt{7}i}{8},\frac{-1-2\sqrt{7}i}{8}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Quadratic equation 8x^2+2x+1=0

To find : Solve the quadratic equation ?

Solution :

The solution of the equation ax^2+bx+c=0 is given by

x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

On comparing,  8x^2+2x+1=0

Here, a=8 , b=2 and c=1

Substitute the value in the formula,

x=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{2^2-4(8)(1)}}{2(8)}

x=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{4-32}}{16}

x=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{-28}}{16}

x=\frac{-2+\sqrt{28}i}{16},\frac{-2-\sqrt{28}i}{16}

x=\frac{-1+2\sqrt{7}i}{8},\frac{-1-2\sqrt{7}i}{8}

Therefore, the solution of equation is x=\frac{-1+2\sqrt{7}i}{8},\frac{-1-2\sqrt{7}i}{8}
