10. Let the unknown number be x; then,

$\frac{ - 3}{4} - x = \frac{5}{6} \\ = > x = \frac{ - 3}{4} - \frac{5}{6} \\ = > x = \frac{ - 18 - 20}{24} = \frac{ - 38}{24} = \frac{19}{12} \\ = > x = 1 \frac{7}{12}$
