Relative speed with which they were approaching each other = 70 + 60

                                                                                                       = 130 km/h

time = 2 + 3/4 = 11/4 hours

so, Distance travelled, = 130*11/4 = 357.5 km

But still they were 65 km apart

i) Hence, Distance b/w towns = 357.5 + 65 = 422.5 km

ii) Now, required time to cross each other will be

   422.5/130 = 3 hours 15 minutes
