here 16/x+y +2/x+y=1

so adding this

16+2/x+y=1

18=x+y .......eqn 1.

8/x-y -12/x-y=7

8-12/x-y=7

-4/x-y=7

x-y=-4/7 .....eqn 2

now add eqn 1 and2

2x=1+-4/7

x=7-4/7*2

x=3/14

now we have x

then, find y

put x in eqn 1

3/14+y=1

y=1-3/14

y=14-3/14

y=11/14

answer
