Solution:

Rewrite x=-6y+7

x+6y=7

Let 2x-9y=14              (1)

and  x+6y=7             (2)

multiply 2 in eq (2) and subtract from eq (1)

     2x -9y =14

    2x +12y=14

   -     -       -    

        -21y = 0

⇒y=0

put y in eq (2)

x+6×0=7

x=7

Hence, x=7, y=0
