or, 7^(-1(4-2x))=7^(1/2)

or, 7^(-4+2x)=7^(1/2)

or, 2x-4=1/2 [if x^a=x^b, then a=b]

or, 2x=1/2+4

or, 2x=9/2

or, x=9/2 × 1/2

therefore, x=9/4
