Answer:

x = 2 and y = 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

x - y + 1 = 0

y = x + 1

Multiply by 2 we get

2 y = 2 x + 2  ....( i )

3 x + 2 y - 12 =0

2 y = 12 - 3 x ....( ii )

From ( i ) and  ( ii ) we have

2 x + 2 = 12 - 3 x

3 x + 2 x = 12 - 10

5 x =  10

x = 2

Now put x =  2 we get

2 y = 2 x + 2

2 y = 4 + 2

2 y = 6

y = 3

Thus we get x = 2 and y = 3.

On graph we can see there is intersection point at ( 2 , 3 ) which shown

values are correct for x and y.
