As per the data given in the question,

We have to determine when -8 is added to the value of 8.

As we know that,

-8 will lies on the left side of number line, while 8 will lies on the right side of the number line.

Let us understand this by an example,

Let we have taken Rs. 1 from any one and give the same Rs. 1 to someone.

In that case, the money taken and money given are equal.

So, in that case we are left with zero in out hand.

So, in the above question,

-8 is negative and 8 is positive.

So, once we add -8 to +8 we will get,

-8+8 = 0

Hence, we will get 0 when we add -8 to 8.
