Heya !!!

49X - 57Y = 172 ---------(1)

And,

57X - 49Y = 252 ----------(2)

From equation (1) we get,

49X - 57Y = 172

49X = 172+57Y

X = (172+57Y/49) --------(3)

Putting the value of X in equation (2)

57X - 49Y = 252

57 × ( 172+57Y/49) - 49Y = 252

57 × 172 + 57 × 57Y/49 - 49Y = 252

9804 + 3249Y/49 - 49Y = 252

9804 + 3249Y - 2401Y = 252 × 49

848Y + 9804 = 12348

848Y = 12348-9804

848Y = 2544

Y = 2544/848

Y = 3

Putting the value of Y in equation (3)

X = 172+57Y/49

X = 172 + 57 × 3/49

X = 172+171/49 = 343/49

X = 7

Hence,

X = 7 and Y= 3
