=> If we see the diagram carefully then there is a zero resistance across R1 . So R1 is nothing in this question that is there is no use of R1 in the question !! .
=> R2 and R3 are connected in Parallel .
Then the equivalent of R2 and R3 will be Series with R4 and R5 .
Now according to the question each resistor is of 2 ohm .
→ 1 / R2 + 1 / R3. => 1 / 2 + 1 / 2 = 1 ohm
=> ( 1 + R4 + R5 )
=> ( 1 + 2 + 2 ) = 5 ohm
Equivalent Resistance ( Re ) => 5 ohm
Current through battery ( i ) => V / Re
=> i = 5 / 5 = 1 A .

Main thing to notice in this question is zero resistance wire across R1 , and Then there is no use of R1 in the question .
