 \binom{ \frac{x}{4} - 3 = \frac{y}{6} }{ \frac{1}{2} x - y = - 2 } \\ \\ \binom{ \frac{x - 12}{4} = \frac{y}{6} }{ \frac{x -2y }{2} = - 2} \\ \\ \binom{6x - 72 =4y }{x - 2y = - 4} \\ \\ \binom{6x - 72 = 4y}{x = - 4 + 2y} \\ \\ put \: x = - 4 + 2y \: in \: eq. \: 6x - 72 = 4y \\ \\ 6( - 4 + 2y) - 72 = 4y \\ \\ - 24 + 12y - 72 = 4y \\ \\ 12y - 4y - 96 = 0 \\ \\ 8y = 96 \\ \\ y = \frac{96}{8} = 12

put \: y = 12 \: in \: x = - 4 + 2y \\ \\ x = - 4 + 2(12) \\ \\ x = - 4 + 24 \\ \\ x = 20 \\ \\

so, x = 20 and y = 12
