Step-by-step explanation:

 \:  \: 3a + 5b = 26 \\  \:  \: a  \:  \: + 5b = 22 \\  -   \:  \:  \: \:  -    \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: - \\ ...................... \\ 2a + 0 = 4 \\ 2a = 4 \\ a =  \frac{4}{2}  \\ a = 2 \\ put \: a = 2 \:  \: in \: a + 5b = 22 \\ 2 + 5b = 22 \\ 5b = 22 - 2 = 20 \\ b =  \frac{20}{5}  \\ b = 4 \\  \: so \:  \: solution \: of \: (a...b) = (2...4)

Answer:

a = 2 , b = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

3a + 5b = 26 ...(1)

a + 5b = 22 ...(2)

Subtracting eq. (2) from eq.(1) , we get

3a + 5b - (a + 5b) = 26 - 22

=> 3a + 5b - a - 5b = 4

=> 2a = 4

=> a = 2

From eq.(2) , we get

a + 5b = 22

=> 2 + 5b = 22

=> 5b = 22 - 2

=> 5b = 20

=> b = 4

Hence,

a = 2

b = 4
