Solution :

x² + x - 182 = 0

=> x² + x = 182

=> x² + 2 × x × 1/2 = 182

=> x² + 2× x × 1/2 + ( 1/2 )² = 182+(1/2)²

=> ( x + 1/2 )² = 182 + 1/4

=> ( x + 1/2 )² = ( 728 + 1 )/4

=> ( x + 1/2 )² = 729/4

=> x + 1/2 = ± √(729/4)

=> x + 1/2 = ± 27/2

=> x = -1/2 ± 27/2

=> x = -1/2 + 27/2 Or x = -1/2-27/2

=> x = 13 or x = -14
