By phythagoras theorem in ∆ BAC

let the perpendicular be 6 cm

let the base be 8 cm

Hypotenuse be x cm

H^2=P^2 + B^2

x^2 = 6^2 + 8^2

x= √100 = 10 cm

The altitude x divide 10 cm into two equal parts

So each part = 5 cm

Now, again using Pythagoras theorem

In ∆ ADC

Perpendicular ^2= hypotenuse ^2 -base^2

Perpendicular ^2 =6^2-5^2

Perpendicular = √11 cm =3.31 cm
