Solution :

\tt\:\frac{x}{3}+1=\frac{7}{15}

\tt\implies\:\frac{x+3}{3}=\frac{7}{15}

  • Cross multiplying

\tt\implies\:15(x+3)=7 \times 3

\tt\implies\:15x+45=21

  • Transposing +45 to RHS it becomes -45

\tt\implies\:15x=-24

  • Transposing 15 to RHS it goes to the denominator

\tt\implies\:x=\frac{-24}{15}

  • Reducing the fraction to the lower terms

\tt\implies\:x=\cancel{\frac{-24}{15}}

\small{\underline{\boxed{\mathrm\red{\implies\:x=\frac{-8}{5}}}}}

Verification :

\tt\:\frac{x}{3}+1=\frac{7}{15}

  • Substituting the value of x as -8 / 5

\tt\to\:\frac{\frac{-8}{5}}{3}+1=\frac{7}{15}

\tt\to\:\frac{-8}{5} \times \frac{1}{3} +1=\frac{7}{15}

\tt\to\:\frac{-8}{15}  +1=\frac{7}{15}

\tt\to\:\frac{-8+15}{15} =\frac{7}{15}

\tt\to\:\frac{7}{15} =\frac{7}{15}

\tt\to\:105 =105

\tt\:LHS=RHS

Hence Verified !~
