let speed of stream = x

when the boat will go down stream the speed of boat will be = stream of boat in still water + speed of stream

that is , 35+x

as we are aware that , speed = distance / time

                therefore , 35+x = 60/1.5

                                     35+x = 40

                               thus , x = 40-35

                             hence, x = 5 km/hr
